About Chef Hunter Barrera
Hunter Barrera is the chef behind the delicious appetizers, heavenly entrees and decadent desserts of Something Homemade. Having inherited the precision and creativity of his predecessor, mentor and mother, Keely Raab (owner of Thyme in the Ranch), Hunter is driven by a passion for food that is consistently expressed through innovative menus and unique events. Hunter has been cooking since the age of 12, when he first stepped foot in the kitchen and began experimenting with flavors. With Keely’s guidance, he became versed in the culinary arts and is now the head chef and owner of Something Homemade.
“I love feeding people, because it can mean so much more than nourishment. Good cooking is nostalgia, comfort and bliss. Giving someone those feelings with my food keeps me going and pushes me to strive for excellence in everything that I do. At the end of the day, it’s about a shared experience that we can all indulge in.” - Hunter
